Neutrinos reveal split personalities
For more than 30 years scientists have puzzled over the mystery of the missing neutrinos emitted from the Sun. Data from underground detectors in Canada and Japan combine to provide the answer.
The remarks in this talk were made on the occassion of the opening of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, SNO, in Sudbury, Ontario, CA. on April 28, 1998. The audience included members of the SNO collaboration, representatives of the principal organizations and institutions that provided resources for the experiment, and enthusiasts and supporters from among the general public.
