Animation of star cluster with black holes
(Portegies Zwart & McMillan, 2000, ApJ 528, L17)

Simulation with 1014 equal mass single star (gray spheres) and 10 black holes (red spheres) each 10 times more massive than the other stars. Size is proportional to square root of mass. The cluster was initially isolated with a density profile taken from a King model with Wo=6.

Here are two snapshots, one at time = 55 and one at time = 125:

Initially we zoom in on the cluster from a distance of 10 to a distance of 5 (in N-body units). Near the end we move through the cluster so we can see the stars which have escaped. Here is the long (41Mb) animation. But for convenience we have cut it into a first part, a second part and a third part (13Mb each).

An extra simulation with similar intial conditions but with Wo=3 (9Mb)
