Orchestra Bio
Alexia Schulz is a graduate student in astrophysics. She began playing
the violin at the age of 8 in the Suzuki program at Northern Arizona
University, in Flagstaff, AZ. She studied there with Ruth Engle Larner,
Dr. Louise Scott and Douglas Locke. While in college, she played in the
Boston University Symphony Orchestra, and also performed with the Jamaica
Plain Symphony. She was the concertmaster of the Harvard University
graduate student orchestra at Dudley House from 1998-2002. From 2002-05,
she served in the US Air Force. While stationed at Kirtland AFB, NM, she
was a member of the Albuquerque Symphony Orchestra. She has since moved
to Berkeley, where you will currently find her performing with the
Prometheus Symphony Orchestra,
dabbling in various folk music, and amusing
herself with Argentine tango, Scandinavian and other pithy folk dances...
while in principle also completing her dissertation.
