Project Info
I maintain a regular interest in gravitational lensing of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) that leads to distortions of the primordial picture of the early universe. This project focuses on understanding the cross-talk between different methods to estimate this lensing effect from CMB observations: first, the smearing of wiggles of the CMB 2-point function, and second the non-Gaussian 4-point correlations of the CMB used for lensing reconstruction. These lensing estimates are not statistically independent, but we show in this project that they can effectively be treated as independent measurements. We also discuss different choices for the likelihood of quadratic lensing reconstructions.
