I took some high ISO indoor shots at the weekend inside Walnford Grist Mill, near Allentown New Jersey. Light levels inside the mill were very low and although I did have my tripod to hand I made a decision to jack the speed right up to ISO 3200 and take some photographs handheld. You might be wondering why …..

I haven’t taken any pictures since getting back from a trip to England a week ago, and so yesterday evening I found myself clicking through my images in Adobe Bridge looking for inspiration. It dawned on me that I’d taken three pictures of a particular building from essentially the same angle. More than that though, they were all quite pleasing shots. Roll on spring so I can get the next one in the series ……

Here is an assortment of photographs of mining houses and stacks I took while on vacation in Cornwall recently. These buildings are literally all over the place, and are remnants of a bygone age when tin mining was an important industry.

Here are some photographs of the beach at Perranporth on the north coast of Cornwall.
I lived in Perranporth until I was four and have memories of playing on the beach as a child. It was quite special to return and see the village again.

Brighton is actually Britain’s most popular seaside town and despite it being a cold winter’s day with a strong easterly wind, there were still plenty of people about.

Here are some photographs looking down on Belfast City and the surrounding area from the surrounding hills.
After a sizeable Ulster Fry in Bewley’s coffee shop I took a walk up Cavehill and surrounding area. Cavehill looks down on the whole of Belfast City and on a clear day from McCarts Fort at the top of the hill you can see a long way north up the Antrim coast and south towards the Mourne mountains.

I happened to be down in Miami for a training course on Mon-Wed last week. There wasn’t much of an opportunity for photography but I did what I could. It really made a nice break from the drab winter we are getting in New Jersey this year. I posted a few of the photographs “here”.
