Adsense-Deluxe Is The Best Plugin For Wordpress

Filed under: Adsense — James Stephens @ 8:55 pm

I’m now using the Wordpress-Deluxe Adsense Plugin instead of Phil Hord’s Adsense Plugin and recommend it strongly.

The deluxe version of the plugin is extremely flexible. You can create different adsense blocks, name them, and call them up in the post with < !--adsense#name-- >. I created custom channels in my Google Adsense account for different subject areas and then named different adsense blocks accordingly. Each adsense block has a unique google_ad_channel ="somenumber"; identifier. Since one block may be denoted the default (this block is invoked with the standard < !--adsense-- > call), I made the subject area in which I had the most posts the default and then modified the Adsense references in the remaining posts. Now that it is done I can see exactly what subject areas are generating clicks.

Adsense Deluxe has a built-in Adsense sandbox tool where you can test ad relevance before adding actual ads to the page. See “this post” for the reason why you want to do that.

Apparently it works just as well for Yahoo! ads too. You should try this plugin.

  1. I use this plugin on a few of my blogs and it has proven to be a great help! I have however tried it on Yahoo ads as well, but it does not seem to be as efficient in helping YPN determine relevancy. Adsense is still much further in keeping the ads relevant than YPN is, especially on a geographic level, but they’re getting better. I use adsense on some sites and YPN on others, just depending on how they target. Great posting here as well as your January 26th post, by the way!

  2. Hi James,
Cool plugin, I really like it. There are very few good pluins available for AdSense. I have already added this one to my favourites. I can’t comment on its use for YPN as I only use AdSense on my blogs.

Maybe it’s time to look in to YPN ;-)

Thanks again for a great plugin.

  3. this plugin has been a life saver for me. i have tried a few other adsense plugins, including an adsense injection plugin that has shown some really great promise. Basically, this plugin is useful for inline ad creation. It randomly injects the ads in different places in the content. I forget the url right now, but if you google adsense injection plugin you’ll probably find it.
