Solar neutrino rates, fluxes, and uncertainties

Explanation

This code calculates the capture rates of solar neutrinos in chlorine and gallium detectors using the best available neutrino cross sections. The code also calculates the uncertainties in the different neutrino fluxes and capture rates for specified uncertainties. The code is contained in exportrates.f.

The code contains many comment lines to explain the procedures and to define the quantities used. References to the source data are given. The input data used to compute the capture rates and uncertainties presented in the papers "What do we (not) know theoretically about solar neutrino fluxes?," Jon N. Bahcall and M. H. Pinsonneault [Phys. Rev. Lett., in press, astro-ph/0402114] and ``Solar Models: current epoch and time dependences, neutrinos, and helioseismological properties'' by John N. Bahcall, M. H. Pinsonneault, and S. Basu [The Astrophysical Journal, 555, 990-1012 (July 10, 2001)] is contained in the file exportrates.dat. For assymetric uncertainties, it is necessary to run different sets of input uncertainties. Sample output of this program is in exportrates.output, which shows how much each input parameter contributes to the uncertainty of each predicted neutrino flux and each calculated rate.
