Subversion - a version control system

Subversion is intended to be a compelling replacement for CVS, for use with software development or documentation. For more information on Subversion in general, see http://subversion.tigris.org.

We can set up a Subversion repository for you on request. The resulting repository will be accessible on the Internet, so you may collaborate with others outside IAS. If you would like a repository set up, please send the following to the computing staff:

Usernames and passwords for yourself and your collaborators.
Read/Write access for the users to the project root and optionally any of its subdirectories.

We will send you a URL for the new repository, which will usually be https://www.sns.ias.edu/svn/username. Use the URL when prompted by your subversion client. For some special projects, we may set up a special URL for shared access.
